8 tips to avoid accidents in the pool

Swimming is a very fun activity, but also dangerous, especially if the one that falls in a pool is a child and does not know how to swim. The drowning for a few seconds, it can bring serious consequences to the Health of children, and even the death . The American Academy of Pediatrics suggest some preventive measures to take care of the safety of your children in the pool.

1. Do not leave children in the pool without supervision. The person who takes care of them must know how to administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation .

2. Do not leave a child alone near a pool and less inside it.

3. Do not forget toys inside or around the pool.

4. Surround the pool with a fence no less than 1.2 meters high, with a lock on the door so that it is not within reach of children.

5. Enroll your children in swimming lessons as soon as possible. One to four years is the most recommended.

6. Even if children can swim, do not let them be aware when they are in the pool and teach them not to play near the drain.

7. For no reason do you stay away from children who can not swim.

8. Teach children not to run, push or jump over each other near the water.

While it is true that water provides great hours pleasure and of exercise for children, it is also a death trap if you do not take the proper precautions to protect them.

A small child can quickly drown in about 2.5 cm of water in a tub if left unattended. Within two minutes of submerging, he becomes unconscious; if he stays submerged for four or six minutes and does not drown, he suffers irreversible brain damage .
