Vitamins can cause allergies

All doctors can tell you that the lack of vitamins in the body causes diseases. For a start, coughs and colds are usually due to a lack of vitamin C. But is it really true that vitamins can cause allergies? It is better to find out.

Vitamins, in their natural form, do not cause allergic reactions. However, vitamin supplements can do it. In recent studies in animals, it was found that vitamins can cause some cells, especially T cells, to become a substance capable of causing allergic reactions.

T cells are types of cells that enter the white blood cells or category of lymphocytes, and play a key role in the immune system. There are some supplements that are believed to have a different composition of T cells. And when this happens, people with an allergic reaction to a particular antigen see it increased.

In another study carried out, drops of vitamins and multivitamins could increase the risk of asthma, as well as food allergies, in children three years old or younger. In this research, about 8 thousand babies were reunited and were given vitamins three times a week. And by the time the children reached the age of three, about 10% of them suffered from asthma and 5% had developed allergies to certain types of foods.

This particular study could prove that vitamins can actually cause allergies, especially if they are administered during childhood. But since only 10% and 5% of all subjects had contracted these diseases, more research is needed to confirm the results.

Vitamins are necessary

Vitamins are a necessity. They are required by the body in order to improve their functions and strengthen their defense system. It is even believed that certain vitamins slow the progression of AIDS and the HIV virus in some patients with this disease.

Most of the time, taking vitamins as a supplement to reach the daily nutritional average has more advantages than disadvantages. Allergic reactions are triggered when there are antigens to stimulate them. In general, they do not cause problems. Diseases, on the other hand, can be contracted for many reasons. And these diseases could cause more health risks than a single episode of allergic reaction.

In conclusion, good vitamin administration should always be monitored. As they can not be totally eliminated from the diet, then it is preferable that they be taken only after consulting with a doctor.
