Lujambio suffers from kidney failure

Teacher Alonso Lujambio , owner of the Secretary of Public Education (SEP) of Mexico, has been hospitalized since October 23 as a result of a severe kidney failure .

Through a press release, the SEP informed that Lujambio is stable and that it will remain in the hospital for medical supervision and ensure its optimal and speedy recovery.

What is kidney failure?

It is the sudden loss of capacity of kidneys to eliminate waste and concentrate urine without losing electrolytes (minerals in the blood and other body fluids that carry an electric charge)

In Mexico it is known that 1 in 7 people suffer chronic renal insufficiency and they do not know it. Here we present this video that has the participation of specialists from the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) and the Federal Health Secretariat (Ssa), so you know what to do to identify and treat this disease.

Many patients have a generalized swelling due to the fluid retention . The doctor may hear a heart murmur or signs of inflammation of the lining of the heart when auscultating the heart and lungs with a stethoscope.

The results of laboratory tests can change suddenly (in a matter of a few days to 2 weeks). These studies can be urine, serum potassium and creatine clearance.

It is therefore essential that if there is a problem with your kidneys, you go with a nephrologist who is the specialist in treating this and other diseases. Beware!
