UNAM presents expo on sexuality

The sexuality It is vital in human beings, that is why it is necessary to sensitize the population, especially young people, about the importance of the prevention and practice of healthy behaviors.

The Health Secretary (Ssa) with support from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) inaugurated the exhibition "Sexuality, living in fullness is your right", in the Universum; with the aim of offering up-to-date information and promoting the culture of sexual rights and reproductive.

The show, with state-of-the-art technology and playful approach, promotes sexuality free of prejudices and risks, so that young people can make safe and responsible decisions.

In the next video, the doctor David Barrios , psychotherapist and clinical sexologist, explains five elements of the sexuality As the sex , the gender , the reproductivity , the afective relationships and the eroticism .

Importance of contraceptive methods

According to the National Survey of Demographic Dynamics of 2009, 97% of adolescents know a contraceptive method , but less than 50% use it in its first sexual relationship ; 66% of young men used some form of protection in their first intercourse , and the most common was the condom.

The contraceptive methods prevent pregnancies unplanned and diseases of sexual transmission . The majority can be obtained in pharmacies and in the health units.
