Stretching to feel good

Before or after exercising, stretching is essential, but did you know that it is also essential for those who do not do any kind of physical activity?

According to experts, stretches are very beneficial if we are tired of sitting all day in front of the computer or if our neck or arms hurt, after driving for several hours. They are also great for reducing stress and relieving the pain caused by uncomfortable postures.

Putting into practice some stretches of neck, arms, legs and hips, mobilizes energy, relieves accumulated tension and improves circulation. However, you must be careful with stretching. Here are some recommendations:

Improper heating can cause joint and muscle injuries, say IMSS specialists. In this regard, Dr. Ricardo Lamadrid Monroy, head of External Consultation of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in the South Unit of the IMSS, points out that the lack or inadequate calisthenics (warming up) causes muscle injuries at the level of knee, ankle, shoulder and elbow.
