According to the investigation, it was published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition , eat cheese could help prevent type 2 diabetes due to its high content of saturated fats, which may have a protective effect against the disease.

The protective effect, explain the researchers, is also due to bacteria probiotics at cheese , as in yogurt, which can reduce cholesterol and produce certain vitamins that protect against diabetes and heart disease.

It is worth mentioning that previous studies have shown that probiotics encourage tolerance of glucose , improve their absorption at the level of the intestinal flora and are effective as part of the treatment of the insulin resistance thanks to the increase in short chain fatty acid levels.

 

Moderate consumption

Regarding its consumption, the authors of the study recommend to moderate the consumption of cheese , as well as other dairy products, because the acids they provide, in combination with a high amount of other foods such as meat, egg bread and soft drinks, can increase the risk of suffering type 2 diabetes.

According to European Association for the Study of Diabetes , a diet rich in foods that are high in acid, such as dairy products and red meat, produce metabolic complications where the production and use of insulin , among other risks, for which moderate consumption is recommended.
