Effects of radiation on the body

When a person appears as positive to sufferradiation it means that it had an excessive exposure with materials considered as radioactive, either accidentally or intentionally.

There are two types of radiation, ionizing radiation and the non-ionizing .

The non-ionizing radiation It comes in the form of light , radio waves, microwaves, radars and can even be broadcast by your television. In general, these types of emissions are so light thatthey are not harmful for tissues or cause harmful consequences in the body.

Instead, the ionizing radiation if it has immediate chemical effects on human tissue and this type of radiation is emitted by X-rays , gamma rays and you make neutrons, electrons, protons, mesons and others.

Humans are exposed to ionizing radiation in our daily life by means of medical exams , industrial reasons, of armaments or manufacture of chemical products, but usually there are strict rules that prevent the exposure from being severely harmful to the body.

When a person has high radiation levels in his body was because he was exposed to large doses of ionizing radiation such as those produced in the nuclear plants . It may be acute or chronic.

The radiation sickness is a serious condition, where the seriousness of symptom They are proportional to the amount of radiation to which you were exposed.

If a human develops the acute radiation disease , this indicates that he was exposed to large amounts of radiation in a very short period of time, symptoms appear in a matter of minutes, and damage to tissues and skin can persist for years depending on the severity of the exposure.

Some symptoms include nausea, vomiting, fatigue and diarrhea. In the most severe cases it can induce coma or epileptic seizures or death.
