And to prevent and take care of health in the face of these diseases, honey is an excellent ally.

Some of its benefits

Experts indicate that honey favors the assimilation process at the intestinal level and is an effective remedy in case of constipation. In the gastrointestinal tract, honey influences peristaltic movements (movements of contraction and undulatory relaxation performed by the esophagus to facilitate the advance of the food bolus to the stomach, to continue with the digestion) and helps in the secretion of gastric juices. Lime honey, for example, decreases this secretion.

Numerous clinical observations have concluded that honey, alone or mixed with the main foods, decreases acidity. So it can be used as medicine and dietary food in cases of gastrointestinal conditions accompanied by heartburn, gastritis and ulcers.

In many patients, honey acts as a natural tonic contributing to weight gain, improving the composition of the blood, normalizing the acidity of the gastric juice and decreasing the irritability of the nervous system.

Taking honey diluted in lukewarm water contributes to undo the mucosa of the gastric walls to quickly absorb the sugars without irritating the intestine.

For its antibiotic properties, experts advise taking honey in case of diarrhea and dysentery, although it is best to go immediately to the doctor, especially in the case of infants. Honey is a natural remedy that protects the health of the whole family.
