Universal health coverage for Mexicans

In the Third International Week of Integration and Development of the Health Sector , the Secretary of Health José Ángel Córdova Villalobos assured that he expects to have the universal coverage in health services in Mexico.

The Secretary of Health indicated that this requires the sustainability of strong institutions . That is why he proclaimed to the dependency in favor of the necessary reforms to give all the solidity to the institutions that for years have been part of the health system in Mexico .

Córdova Villalobos indicated that the financial situation presented by the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) will have to be thoroughly analyzed together with the members of the Social Security Commission , and thus specify the possibilities that are required for its takeoff.

Córdova Villalobos clarified that the rescue of IMSS should not be tempted to reduce resources to other institutions such as ISSSTE or the Popular insurance , since they are also fundamental axes of universal coverage.

"I think we have to strengthen all of them because if we are growing towards a Universal coverage They must give to all, to the three fundamental parts that are: IMSS , ISSSTE Y Popular insurance , which must be very solid, "he said.

Considered that Popular insurance it must be strengthened because it is an oxygen tank for the entities of the country, especially for the financial resources they receive from the federation, through the budget of catastrophic expenses .

The owner of Health reiterated that without quality in the services of public health , the registration of the Universal coverage , so it should be strengthened with more resources to all the Health sector .
