Observatory Citizen vs addictions

Addictions are, in our country, a serious public health problem. This is reflected in the National Addictions Survey of Mexico , which states that there are around one million 713 thousand people who have consumed some type of drug. For this reason, it is important to have centers that treat and promote prevention of addictions.

To this end, the project is launched Citizen Observatory for the Prevention of Addictions , which is directed by the graduate Horacio Martínez , who was the promoter of the Law for Attention to the Consumption of Psychoactive Substances, which was approved in 2010.

As part of this initiative, the Government of the Federal District granted, this year, 12 delegations of Mexico City an economic support of 800 thousand pesos, which should be directed to the creation of centers that treat and prevent addictions.

That is the essential objective of the Citizen Observer: to ensure that the law is carried out, for the benefit of society.

Martinez says that addictions are not a problem of public safety but of health. Figures of the Survey of National Addictions of Mexico , point out that, today, the start of young people in drugs is from 12 to 17 years.

In addition, the first drug they consume is usually marijuana and substances, which are the most economical.
The prevention of addictions is a problem that concerns us all, therefore the conscience should not only be in the Government but in the citizen, like you and me.
