Meditation changes brain patterns

The meditation provides many benefits to the human being, because it reduces the stress and it extends the vision of life. For this reason, some scientists have discovered that it is worthwhile to train brain to focus on the breathing , which is an important part of this technique.

According to information published by the portal of CCN Mexico , a group of researchers studied the relationship between meditation and the brain , and concluded that the experts in the technique have a more focused level of attention, so they have a lower tendency to wander, daydream, fantasize or remember a situation.

In the analysis published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences It is emphasized that people who are experts in meditation they have less activity in the neuronal network by default brain when the latter is not committed to the thought focused (how to solve a task).

Experts point out that, generally, drifting thoughts tend to focus on negative issues, generating more stress Y anxiety ; they have also been related to the attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and with the disease of Alzheimer's .

The researchers looked at 12 experienced meditators and 12 trained novices. Each volunteer was instructed to participate in three types of meditation : concentration (attention to breathing), love-kindness (desire good for beings) and conscience without choice (focus on what comes).

The scientists examined the brain activity with functional magnetic resonance imaging (MRIf).

Other studies have found that fullness of consciousness has positive effects in the face of depression , substance abuse, anxiety and pain, which seems promising for the future. In addition, it is anticipated that people tend to be more unhappy when their mind is rambling.
