Say goodbye to cramps

The lack of warm-up before exercise causes muscle injuries at the level of ligaments in the knee, thighs, ankle and shoulders. Where there may be from small tears, to major injuries. Learn to prevent them!

In this sense, Dr. Ricardo Lamadrid Monroy, head of the External Consultation of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of the Mexican Institute of Social Security, affirmed that the most frequent joint injuries are those of the hip, knee and elbow.

Lamadrid Monroy stressed the importance of preparing the body for the practice of any exercise, recommended to devote 15 to 20 minutes of walking, short jog, harmonic movements of arms, legs, waist and neck, as well as small jumps and squats, before starting any physical activity

Learn to breathe

To achieve these benefits, you must maintain a light to intense breathing: "People who want to exercise should inhale and exhale, causing the tissues and muscles to have a great oxygenation for good elasticity, flexibility and strength."

With this, the body will improve its elasticity and circulation and be better prepared psychologically and physically to perform any sport.

Treatments in case of injuries

If cramps and muscle aches are frequent, the patient must undergo an X-ray study, which together with clinical analysis, will give the diagnosis of the damage, to be treated either with medication, application of plaster, splint or lumbar belt.

Also, you can perform hydrotherapy, ultrasound, compressor therapy, laser beam, as well as occupational therapy, in order to recover the joint movement of the affected limb, so that the patient gradually improves to reincorporate their activities.

For this reason, it is necessary that before carrying out any sports activity, you have the advice of a coach and / or doctor to certify your health status so that you can exercise without reducing your quality of life.
