Benefits of liposoluble vitamins

There are two types of vitamins, the fat soluble ones and the water soluble vitamins. In short, water-soluble vitamins are those that dissolve easily in that liquid. Vitamin C is the best example. On the other hand, fat-soluble vitamins require that the body contain a certain amount of fats so that they can properly absorb the nutrients. Examples of these vitamins are vitamins A, D, E and K.

Only small amounts of fat-soluble vitamins are required by the body to maintain good health. And if you give too much of these vitamins, they will only become toxins that can cause health problems over time. In essence, it is not necessary to take supplements of these vitamins because the body does not need them every day. When they are not used, they are stored in the liver.

The main benefit of vitamin A is to improve vision. Apart from that, it also promotes the development of bones and teeth. The carotene it contains protects against certain types of cancer. Foods rich in vitamin A include carrots, potatoes, pumpkins, milk and other dairy products.

Vitamin D is what is believed, comes from sunlight. And a lot of that is because it is synthesized when sunlight hits the skin. It promotes hardening of the teeth and bones, increasing the absorption in the body of calcium. Fish oils, margarines and egg yolks are other sources of vitamin D.

Vitamin E is the vitamin that prevents cell damage. It is an antioxidant and is known to cause cell renewal. This is the vitamin commonly used in the skin and a solution to aging. Vitamin E can be found in nuts, whole grains, wheat germ and liver.

Vitamin K is responsible for the proper coagulation of blood, that is why they refer to it as the vitamin for blood. Foods rich in vitamin K are green vegetables and cod liver oil. Deficiency of vitamin K in the body can cause excessive bleeding.

This is what fat-soluble vitamins do for your body. While excessive content is harmful, the lack thereof is equally harmful. Make sure your body has enough of these vitamins to stay healthy at all times.
