If you use this word often, you are stressed

CITY OF MEXICO.- When we are stressed, some of our behaviors are modified, including language.

A study conducted by the scientific journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), studied stressed people, and found that some people often use certain words as a symptom of stress.

143 people carried recorders that were turned on occasionally for two days. To this, the interpretation of their facial expressions was added, to determine their level of stress. As a result, the following was discovered:

  • People with a high level of stress speak less.
  • They rarely used third-person pronouns like "their" and "they", because they are less aware of their surroundings and more immersed in their own problems.
  • They express themselves with adverbs like "very", "really", "tan". Their use reflects an altered emotional level, as they must intensify their emotions.

From this study the specialists could begin to pay attention in the speech of the analyzed subjects, and n only to the content of their expressions and how they unfold.

Remember that stress is a sensitive issue and needs attention.
