Students create straw that detects drugs

All people have the right to have fun freely.

Because insecurity is the order of the day, people are forced to create products or items to defend ourselves from situations that may happen to us on the street.

In the last decade, rape cases against young men and women are becoming more frequent. For this reason, Victoria Roca, Susana Cappello and Carolina del Baigorr I, American students. They created a straw that detects the substances most used by rapists to drug their victims through drinks.

With this they intend to combat this social problem.

This invention is able to identify the three most common substances, ketamine, rohypnol and liquid ecstasy. If the drink contains any of these substances, the straw has a filter that identifies them and changes color to Navy blue .

The project is already in the production phase and it is expected that it will be commercialized throughout the North American country.

Even if there are such inventions, remember that it is your life that may be at risk.

Do not accept drinks from unknown people, do not lose sight of your glass, if you notice any strange smell or taste, change your drink. Do not exceed your alcohol consumption.
