The ozone therapy is a medical alternative of recent creation and that is why in Mexico there are no advances technological enough to give it a solid sustenance and, with it, to achieve diversify its use in the hospital centers.

This motivated Daniel Moreno Rojero , student of the Interdisciplinary Professional Unit of Biotechnology (UPIBI) of National Polytechnic Institute (IPN), to design and build an ozone generator that, in addition to transforming the oxygen molecule (O2) from the air into a ozone molecule (O3), has an innovative control system that regulates and shows how much of the element is used.

It is intended that the High costs that causes, due to the imported apparatuses, to diminish considerably and in turn, the use of ozone as a tool to attend and treat diverse pathologies .

The young scientist explained that the generator of ozone Its main element is a steel tube with a concentric dielectric, inside which oxygen or air is injected from the environment and a high-voltage electric discharge is supplied to induce the transformation of the oxygen molecule in a ozone molecule .

Technological development

Technological development is digitally controlled by corona technology to produce ozone and energy ultraviolet to monitor the concentration of it.

Moreno Rojero comments: "the Crown effect for the production of ozone is to ionize the air surrounding the high voltage conductors of the dielectric tube, which occurs when the electrical gradient exceeds the dielectric strength of the air and manifests itself in the form of small sparks or discharges to centimeters from the conductors "

To realize this prototype , the young scientist counted on the advice of the professors and researchers Jorge Isaac Chirez Oria of the UPIBI and Tatyana Poznyak of the School of Chemical Engineering and Extractive Industries (ESIQIE).

Daniel Moreno reported in the presentation of prototype , that the perspectives that it has to future are to modify it so that it counts on two tubes generators of ozone, to design an interface to connect it to a computer and to patent the technology to commercialize the equipment. This could mean a breakthrough in materia medica .
