10 measures against syphilis

The lack of information, ignorance, medical carelessness and the lack of adequate clinical studies in hospitals have allowed children in Mexico to be born with HIV AIDS or syphilis congenital

The sexually transmitted infections can be prevented, if these 10 measures recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention United States :

1.- The safest way to avoid contagion syphilis and others sexually transmitted diseases (ETS), is the abstention from sexual contact.

2.- Have a stable and monogamous relationship with a couple that has been tested for an infection.

3.- Abstaining from alcohol and drugs helps to prevent the transmission of syphilis , because these activities can lead to dangerous sexual behavior. It is important that sexual partners talk to each other about whether they have HIV or if in the past they have had other ETS , so that they can take preventive actions.

4.- The correct and habitual use of the condoms latex can reduce the risk of contracting syphilis , herpes genital and chancre . Ulcerative genital diseases can appear in both the male and female genital areas, which were not covered during sexual intercourse.

5.- The condoms lubricated with spermicides are not more effective in preventing the transmission of ETS than normal ones The use of condoms lubricated with N-9 is not recommended to prevent infection of the ETS or of HIV .

6.- The transmission of a ETS It can not be prevented by just washing your genitals, urinating or having a vaginal shower after sexual intercourse. Any discharge, ulcer or abnormal irritation, particularly in the groin area, should be considered as a signal to stop having sex and consult the doctor immediately.

7.- In case of being a mother infected with syphilis , it is necessary to undergo a series of studies and clinical tests that confirm the infection . It is important to follow adequate prenatal care, including studies serological .

8.- At the community level, it is important to carry out adequate sexual education in schools and public centers, as well as to provide early diagnosis and treatment services.

9.- You must keep track of the ETS and provide sex education to sex workers.

10.- Teaching and promotion of prevention methods (condoms, for example) through all means of communication.

The most important thing is that you have an adequate communication with your partner, to prevent the spread of diseases and carry out an opportune treatment.
