Never apply toothpaste on the grains ... Here the reason

If you had or have acne, you have probably heard from your aunts or friends the following home remedy: put toothpaste on the buds.

Maybe this method worked for you at the time, but there is an important reason for not doing it.

Although the paste contains ingredients that help dry the granites (such as baking soda or witch hazel), it is preferable not to use it because it can be counterproductive.

The dermatologist Leslie Baumann explains in his book Cosmetic Dermatology that the sodium sulfate contained in the toothpaste removes the natural lipids from the skin and leaves it more exposed to external irritants.

The toothpaste is so effective that it can get rid of acne but it will also dehydrate your skin, leaving it even more vulnerable than before. In the long run this can cause you to get more pimples.

So the next time you have an annoying bud in the middle of your forehead, resist the temptation to put toothpaste and better go to the pharmacy for a specialized product on the skin of your face.
