Logotherapy to face a duel

Sometimes, it seems that making sense of the pain may be the only way to overcome the impact of a blow, such as death of a loved one, the loss of health or property, the violence unexplainable, etc., and an alternative to achieve this is logotherapy.

In a logotherapy session we try to create the connection between mental health and our values base, as well as contact with ideals and spirit, looking for goals and tasks to be followed even in adverse conditions.

The four steps in the modification of attitudes, according to the logotherapy, are:

1. That the patient can put distance between him and his symptoms. 2. Modify their attitudes. Open new perspectives. 3. Reduce the symptoms. 4. Orient yourself towards meaning.

Also, the meditation can be of enormous help to people who are going through a duel very painful. And some of the attitudes to be cultivated by the person crossing through this "dark night of the soul" could be:

1. Upon awakening, thanks what you have: a roof, friends, loving relatives, to be able to breathe, etc. 2. Instead of "gossiping", speak well of others. 3. Instead of cursing someone, send them a blessing. 4. When walking, think that you walk towards the truth, toward the light. 5. When cleaning, imagine that you are cleaning negative habits. 6. When you wear something new or beautiful, offer your enjoyment. 7. When you see someone happy, be happy for him.

Deciding to change your attitude is the key: take every opportunity to bring your heart and mind to spiritual practice: to meditate , reflect on gratitude , to make compassion arise, if only for a few seconds.

Knowing different approaches to managing the pain of loss is perhaps one of the most important things you can do for yourself.

Remember that the higher addiction the greater the suffering. For this reason, I invite you to the symposium on the "Existential Void", for the Vícktor Frankl Studies Center and to the workshop "Close cycles: letting go and letting go" in the Center Being Better to Be on the 1st and 2nd of September.

Let us learn to live suffering by giving it meaning. For more information call 36-19-72-94 or visit www.sermejorser.com.mx
