According to National Hearth, Lung and Blood Institute , the secret to choosing healthy and zero harmful foods is variety, that is, products of the following colors, in the right proportions, must not be lacking.

1. Greens

They are the foods to eat at any time, because they are low in fat, calories and sugars. They are a better source of vitamins, minerals and other important nutrients for health.

An example are fruits, vegetables, whole grains, non-fat or low-fat dairy products, lean meats, poultry, fish, beans, egg whites or egg substitutes.

2. Yellow

Although they are nutritious, consume them sometimes or less frequently, because they have more fats and sugars than green ones.

Some examples are vegetables with added fat, white bread, low fat mayonnaise and 2% fat milk.

3. Red

They are ingested occasionally or on special occasions; They are high in added fats and sugars. They have a low content of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients.

Reduce consumption of whole milk, cheese, French fries, fried tortillas, sweet bread, butter and creamy salad dressings.

A poor choice when preparing food or resorting to fast food, are the main culprits that in Mexico, 7 out of 10 people suffer from overweight and obesity. You have the right to choose a better quality of life!
