If you are pregnant, use this against Zika

Given the increase in cases of newborns with congenital microcephaly and its relationship with the Zika virus, there is an option for pregnant women to reduce their concerns: clothing with mosquito repellent.

The Pan American Health Organization ( OPS) indicates that up to March 10, six thousand 158 cases of microcephaly have been registered, with Brazil being the country that hosts most of these.

To reduce these figures, Megadose , a Brazilian firm specializing in garments for pregnant women, places some citronella capsules in the fabrics of clothing, a natural repellent to avoid the bite of mosquitoes, which lasts 20 times.

These garments could be a complement to the rest of the preventive measures recommended by the health authorities of each country, such as covering the skin with long-sleeved clothing and trousers, sealing the windows and doors with mosquito nets, preventing water from becoming stagnant.

Do not forget that the use of repellent is essential to prevent mosquito bites during the day, which is the most active Aedes aegypti mosquito, responsible for infecting the virus.
