Bed bug with superbug is discovered

Do you worry about mosquitoes at night? Canadian researchers have discovered that small insects that are usually in your bed can transmit diseases because they carry bacteria resistant to antibiotics , publishes the newspaper of the Center for Disease Control of the United States.

The results are not yet considered conclusive, but Marc Romney, researcher of the St. Paul Hospital from Vacouver in British Columbia, mentions that Bedbugs, which previously were thought to be inoffensive, could be transmitting certain diseases.

The study analyzed 5 types of Bedbugs in 3 patients of the hospital. Two of the insects had the bacteria known as Enterococcus faeium or VRE, which used to be treated with the vancomycin antibiotic, but now they have become resistant to it.

Three other bed bugs taken from another patient were positive to carry super insect MRSA , which is also resistant to antibiotics. The super insect can now be found almost anywhere, from cell phones to money, but the bacterium that carries needs to be in contact with the skin of the person to cause a disease.

The researchers point out that the infections transmitted by bed bugs should go through the skin, or through a bite, to transmit a disease.
