At what age emotions begin to form

The first years of life are fundamental in the formation of emotional intelligence of a person.

According to the Mexican psychologist Claudia Santamaría, a professor at the Latin American University and a specialist in children and emotions, it is very important to know the stages of development emotional in children, especially from 0 to 5 years.

The specialist highlights the importance of retaking contact with the girl or boy after an attack of anger and help him understand what has happened and why.

The creature needs admiration and respect for being as it is and it is vitally important that he knows that his parents are proud of him and that they respect each and every one of his special characteristics.

Connecting with children is not an easy task and many times adults must make an extraordinary effort to reunite with the child after a confrontation and offer an affectionate way out to continue the relationship.

The love, support and best efforts will ensure a healthy growth and will mean a solid foundation on which you can build your life, says the expert.

  • Development of intentional communication (from 3 to 10 months). It stops being a small bunch of instincts and reflexes focused on itself, to become a baby that opens to the world physically, mentally and emotionally
  • Appearance of an organized sense of self (from 9 to 18 months). It refers to the transition from the baby age to the small child stage

  • Emotional reasoning The origin of the imagination, sense of reality and self-esteem (from 30 to 48 months). The ability to handle ideas and feelings appears
  • Emotional expression of the five-year-old child. He is a great conversationalist, although he thinks before he speaks and does not start prattling like a four-year-old would.
