Understand the problems

Do you move your hands when talking? Sometimes the words may not be enough to convey the message we want to send, so it is common for us to "move our hands".

Moving our hands has become such a daily technique that it seems to have no greater relevance in our physical or mental health. However, recent studies in psychology of the University of Chicago They indicate that this simple technique improves the ability to order our ideas in a conversation, as well as to solve our problems.

This study evaluated the amount of gestures that the participants made when explaining a simple procedure that consisted of organizing a set of rings in different supports.

Understand the problems

The people who made more hand movements to explain the indicated procedure, showed greater agility to solve problems, unlike people who moved their hands in a scant way or used only one limb, who took more time and obtained worse results.

This study is very useful especially for the educational area, since the researchers indicate that these findings can be used to design learning strategies at early ages and help to improve the understanding of the problems, which will avoid situations of stress, lack of concentration and improve attention.
