3 out of 10 suffer violence in courtship

The Violence in the courtship it is a recurrent and cyclical act, which occurs between two people who maintain a sentimental relationship; regularly appears among young people (16 and 22 years old), because it is the moment in which they experience a relationship of courtship, Donají Cortés Gutiérrez, coordinator of the Sexual Brigade of the Institute of Youth of the DF .

According to information from the World Health Organization (WHO), three of every 10 adolescents report that they suffer violence in the engagement .

 

Types of violence

Violence is expressed in different ways, so they have been cataloged as:

  1. Psychological : It makes people feel bad, with the aim of changing their way of thinking, acting and dressing.
  2. Verbal : It is given through words, whether high-sounding or humiliating
  3. Physical : Consists of blows, scratches, slaps, kicks, pinches and pulls of hair.
  4. Sexual : It has to do with the loss of prestige at the social level, as well as forcing the person to have intimacy.
  5. Economic : It occurs when one of the individuals evidences the material things that he buys.

In an interview for GetQoralHealth , the Regional Coordinator of the Women's Institute of the Federal District, María de Lourdes Montes, explains the economic violence:

People can detect that they are in a relationship where violence predominates when you partner control what you do, feel jealous of your friends or family, claims you in public or private, pressures you to change your way of dressing, combing or makeup, promises to change their defects and never complies, among other things.
