In an interview with GetQoralHealth ,  Eduardo Calixto, head and head of the Department of Neurobiology of the division of research in Neurology of the National Institute of Psychiatry "Ramón de la Fuente", points out that eight seconds is enough to determine that a person we like it .

For the expert this is because in just 300 milliseconds, (half a second) the image of the individual is recorded in our frontal lobe, which for eight seconds analyzes the features that according to our memory, mirror neurons and knowledge determine if it is nice or not.

According to Eduardo Calixto, this process is called "Emphatic Neurology", and is essentially composed of neurons (especially mirror neurons) that are responsible for generating, expressing and interpreting their own emotions and that of others.

However, there are mechanisms that stimulate and define whether a person is nice to us or not. Discover what they are!

1. Laughter It is the initiation to the process of empathy. This occurs after the third month of life and is the first contact to integrate into a society.

2. Voice tone. We evaluate the way in which things tell us, the emphasis of words. The interpretation of them allows us to establish if we agree with a person or will be unpleasant for us.

At this point, women make a more accurate interpretation, but more chaotic. Something very different in the case of men that is fast and not correct.

3. Memory. This arises from experience, and tells us based on features and tone of voice what we can expect from the newly known person, as we resort to the memories to know it.

For Calixto there is another factor that determines why we like a person or not: the protein Major histocompatibility complex. This is responsible, through the immune system, to interpret genetic compatibility.

Women are the only ones who can distinguish it, so sometimes, they tend to reject other women or men, since this protein indicates that there is no genetic compatibility.
