A hope in the treatment against autism is the use of oxytocin in nasal spray.
A study published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Science (PNAS), ensures that the brain function of children with autism improves after a single dose of oxytocin, a hormone produced in the hypothalamus that is involved, among many other functions, in the establishment of social ties.
