Therapy in the courtship?

Couple therapy? When these two words are heard together, without a doubt, the image of crisis, abuse, breakage and, above all, of marriage comes to people's minds; however, not only couples united over the years and legally can resort to this psychological option.

Each time there are more couples who resort, from the early stages of the relationship, to couple therapies; example, in courtship. Most could state that in this phase, where love does not allow to see the other's faults, however, when a sentimental situation is dysfunctional, it is from the beginning.

It should also be taken into account that from the courtship, external factors such as money, social pressures and stress are present, but how can we know if the relationship requires professional help?

The specialist Brian Doss, associate professor of psychology of the University of Miami, indicates that there are four signs that suggest that going to couple therapy can and should be necessary if you want to rescue or maintain the affective bond:

1. You were unfaithful . It is a serious problem that can be difficult to deal with. You have to analyze if your relationship is falling apart, but especially if it's worth saving.

2. The flame went out. Couples are often so busy with other things that they take things for granted. At this point you should think that to save love the couple should be the priority. Also, remember, if there is a period without sex this could be a sign of a bigger complication or that some of the two have an affair.

3. Fight without stopping. If the simple fights become a constant source of tension, the assistance of someone external could help the conversation move away from the typical fucking stalemate where everyone exhibits what you want, changing it into a dialogue where you look for the common good .

4. You do not care anymore. They never fight, indifference is a bad sign. If you move away from your partner more often than you approach, it does not only mean that there is distance, there may already be interest. A specialist can help you understand and look for the source of this problem.

Couples therapy can help you solve some problems and prevent emotional damage, but when the relationship is destructive and you support yourself rather than support you should analyze if what you want is to continue with it.

Your physical and emotional health can only depend on one person, on yourself. Take care and love yourself.
