Natural products vs depression

In Mexico, the depression affects 15% of the population, in a range of 20 and 40 years of age, causing loss of sleep, weight loss and sexual appetite , alopecia , fatigue and desires to die. According to the Health Secretary (Ssa), one of the factors that generate disease is the deficiency in the consumption of foods that contain Vitamin B .

In accordance withJosé Alejandro Almaguer González , Director of Traditional Medicine and Intercultural Development of the Health Secretary , the natural products such as apples, melons, watermelon, orange, mango, chickpea, lentils, beans, beans, spinach, garlic and onions, as well as pulque or mead, help to combat depression mild or moderate.

The expert mentioned that pulque and mead are two products extracted from maguey with a high content of Vitamin B , that help people with this condition. For this reason, he recommended to those affected to drink a glass a day of these drinks, so that their quality of life remains stable.

On the other hand, he stressed that the plant "Pericon ” (Hypericum perforatum) or St. John's wort, is recommended in all countries of the world for the treatment of depression .

Another plant used to combat anxiety and fall asleep is the so-called "raven's grass "Or"plow grass "; It can be consumed as tea in the morning or at night. Its popular use is based on research from Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) and the Chapingo Autonomous University .

What is depression?

It is a mood disorder, in which the patient commonly feels with "low batteries", and refers to a syndrome or group of symptoms that mainly affect the affective sphere, such as sadness pathological, decay, irritability or mood swings, which can decrease work performance or limit habitual activity.

To prevent it, Almaguer González recommends carrying a diet balanced, complemented with Vitamin B , C , magnesium (500 mg daily), amino acids such as tryptophan (6 g daily), L-tyrosine (3 g daily) and L-phenylalanine (400 mg daily).
