Mexico opens a degree in chiropractic

The profession of chiropractic , for its dynamism, it has been placed in 3rd place within the health area as primary care after medicine and dentistry around the world.

More than 100 years after its discovery in 1895, thanks to Daniel David Palmer , chiropractic is increasingly recognized and the professional services of this branch have increased their demand, becoming the 4th most promising career in the United States of America.

Managing the human body to cure problems in the joint and nervous system , focusing on the spine, will be the main skill of the graduates of the career in chiropractic, which will be taught starting in August at the Universidad del Valle de México.

It is estimated that 80% of the world population at some point in their productive life will have spinal conditions. For some researchers this constitutes a health problem of great importance in the XXI century. For what is the precise moment to promote new techniques that are not as expensive as traditional treatments.

Chiropractic is a profession, within the health sciences, that deals with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disorders of the neuro-musculoskeletal system, and the effects that these cause on the nervous system and general health, with emphasis on the manual treatment.

The degree program in chiropractic of the Universidad del Valle de México will follow the guidelines and guidelines on basic training in chiropractic, issued by the World Health Organization (WHO). This new area of ​​study will be a reality from August 2011 and will open its doors at Coyoacán Campus.

Teaching process

To maintain an innovative model of learning, the use of anatomical models , virtual dissection software and simulators of the human body.

Learning will be based on medical problems, evidence-based medicine; everything that favors the capacity of knowledge integration, its application and effective solution in health problems.

The degree in chiropractic will offer the necessary tools, so that based on the knowledge acquired, a clear diagnosis of the condition can be obtained through clinical skills and laboratory, in order to generate a treatment plan that allows you to apply specific chiropractic techniques and adjustments to correct the condition and restore function eliminating the cause of pain and restoration of function.
