Memory loss every day affects younger people

Memory loss is a disorder that has been increasing all over the world, according to Scottish scientists from the CPS Research, a research center in Glasgow, Scotland; where you are trying to find a cure for this condition that is a consequence of our modern lifestyles and the "information overload," the researchers say.

Many people, especially those from advanced age , they worry when they start to forget about such routine and basic things as: "where were the keys?" or "why did I come to the kitchen?"; They believe they are the first symptoms of Alzheimer's, but it's not always like that. Being forgetful or taking time to remember certain things is, in general, a normal process of aging.

The main objective of the Scottish study is to analyze the reasons why this condition no longer affects only the older adults , but that their age range is decreasing, which is why many young people are currently victims of memory loss . The disorder is known in the medical world as "Subjective Cognitive Disability" (SCI).

Illness "of the busy life"

Scientists have baptized it as "syndrome of the busy life "and they affirm that the forgetfulness, or the forgetful being, can be caused by a frantic lifestyle or when we are constantly bombarded with information from cell phones, television, radio and Internet.

The doctor Alan Wade , from CPS Research, explains that forgetfulness is a normal process of old age, but that there is anecdotal evidence, which suggests that now people increasingly young , as a result of multiple occupations in the home or work and by the excess of information coming from the various means of communication that we consume today, suffer from this disease .

East study It is not aimed at those who are constantly losing the keys, or forget the names of people, or who lose their glasses. Researchers are going to study if this kind of forgetfulness It can be treated with a small dose of drug which is used to treat Alzheimer's disease: memantine.

Currently, this medication is routinely prescribed to people who already have the disease, but it is believed that lower dose could help fight the SCI.
