It should be remembered that a renal colic is the appearance of a sharp, abrupt pain in the lateral part of the area of the kidneys or in the lower back area. It is caused by a stone that can be in said organ or in the ureter and, by producing an obstruction to the passage of the urine , causes a series of alterations in all the tissues that are above it.

The kidney stones occur due to an accumulation of minerals from calcium or of uric acid in this organ. If these deposits are not eliminated correctly, they accumulate to form a lithiasis .

The stones are formed in the kidney chalices and from there, in relation to their size and shape, they can travel to the ureter to get to the bladder and be expelled by the urine or even stay in the kidney .

If they produce obstruction to the exit of urine from kidney or in the ureter , can cause severe pain in the lower back and high fever, which makes surgical intervention necessary.
