Could you distinguish between a false or true smile?

What many of us call astuteness can simply be observation. Human beings, over the years, we have become experts in deception, the fact is that how many of us can distinguish between a smile false and a true one. You can?

Ehsan Hoque , graduate of the TI have Affective Computing Group of MIT's Media Lab , has managed to find a more effective method than the human eye to differentiate between deception and truth, technology.

Through a system developed by MIT, Hoque allows us to distinguish between an authentic smile and one that comes from frustration.

Through an investigation that consisted in exposing a video in front of diverse spectators, Hoque could distinguish between diverse signals that, imperceptible, showed how human beings hide our emotions after a fake smile.

The MIT program may be the first of its kind to recognize another emotion that we rarely observe after a smile: pain.

However, the system does not aim to distinguish a fake smile of a true one Its purpose is to help people to distinguish and interpret the gestures of others in a more accurate way.

Hoque hopes that this tool will help in the lives of people with problems such as autism, since it is also to avoid being deceived so easily, seeks to be a bridge of communication.

The analysis could also be useful in creating teams that respond more efficiently to the mood of the people who employ them.

Surely the day will come when human beings no longer have to trust our instincts to know if a person deceives us and thus avoid the pain that this causes. What do you think?
