How many hours a week do you dedicate to your work? A person who works more than 50 hours a week is considered to be workaholic and it is easier to present some consequences of workaholism in their health.

According to a survey conducted by OCCMundial , leader in the search for employment online, 13% of Mexican workers are considered workaholics.

During the study it is detailed that new technologies, globalization and work pressures encourage the loss of the line between personal life and work.

For this reason, people usually take work home twice a week, dedicate a few hours of their rest days to release some pending or be aware of emails.

On the other hand, an investigation of the Kansas State University suggests that work addiction reduces physical and mental wellbeing, since these aspects do not represent a priority for workaholics.

Scientists emphasize that the omission of meals due to overwork and lack of rest negatively impacts the health of people, so they register depression, bad habits, an increased risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes.

In addition, it promotes weight gain, high blood pressure, anxiety and divorce. Therefore, it is best to leave the office and take time to rest, clear your mind and recharge your energy.
