How many times do you smile at your job or do you enjoy the activity you do? According to a survey conducted by the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS), Mexico is the country with the highest work stress, surpassing China and the United States.

This disease is not only the trigger of cardiovascular diseases, it also harms the quality of life of people, but how can work-related stress be reduced?

In information published in The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) details that this type of stress negatively impacts the physical and mental health of workers.

The main causes of these damages are the reduction of personnel, the increase in the volume of work, the long hours and the pressure exerted by the bosses. Therefore, the following tips from Dr. David Posen will make your job more enjoyable.

1. Reduce your tasks. Working as a team and sharing tasks can decrease the volume or workload.

2. Find a flexible workplace and schedule. These measures will increase your quality of life by reducing the time spent in transfers and making the most of working hours.

3. Moderates the use of technology. The excessive use of emails and text messages reduces your productivity, so try to occupy these methods as little as possible. Make the conversation more practical in these media so that it is short and concise.

4. Avoid overtime. Various studies suggest that productivity decreases after working 40 hours a week. People who work longer are more likely to be sleepy, sedentary and have poor health.

5. Identify problem people. Abusive people often contaminate the work area and reduce productivity; stay out of them to avoid falling into their game.
