5 keys vs digestive problems

The perception that women in Mexico have about health and digestive problems, reflects the need to clarify several concepts that can help make decisions when choosing your menu, or make the list of the super.

According to the study of perception of health and digestive problems in Mexican women, carried out by Kellogg's® in 2012, only 2% of the participants state that they have not experienced any discomfort during their life.

This data reflects the frequent presence of different symptoms related to various digestive problems, ranging from poor digestion, upset stomach, inflammation, heaviness, to bad mood.

77% of respondents said they are concerned about their digestive health, but 63% know little or nothing about it, and only 25% take proactive action to counteract the symptoms.

This study also details that 49% of women only consume fiber when they feel they need it, and most are unaware they should consume 30 g every day to have a healthy digestive system.

Fiber is the material that constitutes the cell walls of fruits, vegetables and cereals; It is scientifically proven that it is very effective to avoid digestive problems, because it helps the body to function properly.

Increasing fiber content in food can easily be achieved by making simple changes in the selection and preparation of meals. Agree with this, Lorena Almeida, Nutriologist of All-Bran® Suggests some recommendations:

1. Increase the consumption of fruits and vegetables
2. Prefer chopped fruit instead of fruit juices
3. Accompany the main course with a side dish of vegetables
4. Include fresh salads with a rich mix of vegetables and fruits
5. Eat cereals ready for breakfast or dinner with high fiber content

Wheat bran cereals can also be used as an ingredient in your main recipes to increase flavor, texture and fiber content

It is important to consider that the increase in its consumption must be gradual and directly proportional to the consumption of liquids, so that it fulfills its function properly.

A change in lifestyle, along with a full diet that provides the amount of nutrients such as fiber, more daily exercise, can help reduce digestive problems.
