According to National Institute of Public Health (INSP) , the depression it represents the fourth cause of disability with respect to the loss of years of healthy life. In Mexico it occupies the first place of disability in women, while in men it is the ninth.

However, a study published in The British Journal of Occupational Therapy , ensures that the depression it can be reduced in a simple and delicious way: just by learning to cook.

Researchers say that cooking something for others serves as a therapy to reduce depression , because they learn a healthy lifestyle and focus their mind on something positive.

When you prepare a food for someone you love, your thoughts are directed to what you will feel and the emotions you will experience, that is, forget all the negative things that are around you.

The researchers point out that occupying your hands and mind in something else improves your self-esteem, confidence and sociability, in a few words, you increase your physical and mental well-being.
