Placenta grows under stress

The placenta of the pregnant women stressed It grows faster than those that are not stressed. One of the hypotheses handled is that the growth could be due to nature's attempt to protect the fetus .

The stress of maternal life in the face of pregnancy was associated with Placental weight increased at the birth of the baby; Even so, this means only the beginning of a deeper investigation.

The study may contribute to a better understanding of the role of the placenta in the regulation of intrauterine processes in response to stress.

Researchers from the University of Basel, in Switzerland, found, for the first time, that there are factors other than diet and very specific lifestyle habits, such as smoking, that influence the feeding of the fetus in the womb; contemplating that the nutrients come from the placenta.
