Monday: the day of most heart attacks

Millions of people in the world do not like this day because it is when you return to routine activities, stress returns, pressure and in many cases the lack of time forces us to eat away from home.

All this, even if you do not believe it, is what causes Mondays to be the days when more heart attacks are registered, reveals Miguel Ángel Lescano Alva, from the National Heart Institute.


The specialist said that prevention is the best way to avoid heart attacks, accompanied by a healthy diet low in salt due to high blood pressure and reduced in sugar by diabetes, because frequently on Monday we tend to drag the abuses of Saturday and Sunday, which weakens us to assume the emotional burden of the beginning of the week.

Data from the Sleep Disorder Clinic of the UNAM, indicate that the problem to fall asleep, on Sundays, is due to a lag of our circadian rhythm.

The reason is that during the weekend, people go to bed and get up later than their weekday schedule, which causes the sleep-wake cycle to move in relation to the hours that the usual schedule was traveled.

So if you want to avoid being a statistic, it is best to sleep early on Sunday and wake up with the whole attitude although stress and routine overwhelm you.
