International Women's Day 100th anniversary

This year, on March 8, the 100th anniversary of International Women's Day is celebrated in many countries around the world. It is also considered the first International Women's Day of the United Nations for UN-Women, a UN entity created in 2010 for the Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women .

The official theme of the year 2011 is "La equal access to education , training and science and technology: The way to decent work for women ".

According to the United Nations, the International Women's Day , celebrated on March 8, is the date that commemorates women in the world and also in the United Nations. Women from all continents, often separated by national borders and ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic and political differences, come together to celebrate and contemplate a tradition of no less than ninety years of fight for equality, justice, peace and development.
