You sleep a little thing? You are not the only one. A study of American Academy of Sleep Medicine, notes that people's sleep has decreased 31% in a period of 27 years; that is, it went from rest from 7.40 to 7.18 hours.
And although this decrease seems "insignificant" has a great impact, the first is that it increases the production of white blood cells, which is a shock to the immune system. Something similar happens in situations of stress where there is a greater release of cortisol.
Lack of sleep can also shorten your life. How? An investigation published in the magazine Sleep states that people who sleep 6 hours or less are 4.5% more likely to suffer a stroke compared to those who sleep 7 or 8 hours.
