From one moment to another, we simply stop understanding what someone does not explain or in front of a text, whether it is from a magazine or a book, we do not understand beyond the first lines, and it is not that we ignore the meaning of some words; what can happen, in both cases, is that we are experiencing cerebral laziness.

The brain works in a complex way and its functioning is able to elucidate the most complex concepts, so, like many other situations in life, if it has no activity we can regret some consequences.

 

What to do to avoid it?

The doctor Georgina Montemayor , academic of the Faculty of Medicine of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) , recommends to take note on the following tips, in order to shake that ungrateful cerebral laziness that can cause that the reflection, the analysis and the understanding, are tasks that we label sadly as titanic.

With regard to food, suggests that:

1. If for any reason -excessive work or lack of time- we stop eating for more than 3 hours, our brain activity will be affected, so we must avoid it.

2. Include in the diet foods that contain Omegas 3, 6 and 9, which are found in the seeds of chia and pumpkin.

3. Who does not like blueberries? Well, they are highly recommended, as well as the consumption of other fruits rich in antioxidants such as strawberries, kiwis and grapes.

Pleasure + Stimulation

The famous and even trite phrase of the roman poet Tenth June Juvenal, 'Healthy mind in healthy body', is a premise that is worth resuming if we aspire not to have cerebral laziness.

Georgina Montemayor, explains that aerobic exercise, as well as physical disciplines such as pilates or yoga are ideal, since they favor oxygenation through proper breathing.

The practice of a sport gives us, in addition to a wave of endorphins that mean valuable moments of pleasure, the opportunity to reduce our levels of stress, as well as to give a channel to the pressures that we can have on a daily and regular basis; in this way our mood improves.

In this same sense, meditation brings great benefits to the brain, as it relaxes us and helps to focus our attention, and this is a significant exercise for the mind, as it is to perform activities that involve an intellectual effort for their understanding, learning or analysis. , as is the knowledge of a new language or understand the literature of the so-called classics.
