That allergies do not spoil your summer

Some people have allergies in summer, so they do not enjoy their vacation to the fullest; However, you can take into account some measures so that you do not ruin this season expected by many.

According to the Spanish Society of Allergology and Clinical Immunology (SEAIC) there are some recommendations that patients with some type of summer allergy should take into account to overcome the discomfort that is generated:

1. Sensitivity of the skin. Before using a sunscreen it is necessary that you apply a small dose on your body to discover if you have an allergic reaction. Some creams have a photosensitizing effect, that is, they react negatively with the sun's rays.

2. Food outside the home. Food allergies increase in summer, so keep an eye on all the products you eat when reading the labels, taking care that they are fresh and asking all the questions you have to the waiters or cooks.

3. Urticaria. Some seasonal fruits such as cherries or peaches can cause itching on contact with the skin on the hands and lips; They can even cause inflammation and itching in the mouth, lips and throat when swallowed. Avoid them!

4. Stings. In the summer months allergies are increased by wasps and bees stings. Therefore, take care when you are outdoors and avoid meals in forests or places where this type of insects proliferate. No views of striking colors or prints.

5. Dermatitis. The frequent use of swimming pools during the holidays worsens the symptoms of atopic dermatitis, especially in children, either due to prolonged contact with water and the chemicals used to disinfect it. The sea can be a good alternative for this type of allergy.

6. Temporary tattoos. When applying henna with a strong concentration of paraphenylenediamine, substance that allows to properly fix the strokes, you can register dermatitis and allergies on the skin.

7. Mites. This type of insects proliferate in temperate and humid temperatures, reason why their high concentration causes sneezing or irritation in the skin.

8. Animals. Stay away from the species such as mice, horses, sheep and goats, because the hair, saliva and urine, as they generate allergic reactions that manifest themselves in eyes and respiratory tract.

9. Pollen If you are allergic to it, try to reduce the presence of symptoms with medications and appropriate treatments.

10. Specialists. Before leaving on a trip, visit your doctor or specialist to give you a correct diagnosis and the necessary medications to combat allergies in summer.
