Dental x-rays detonate brain cancer

According to a study published by the American Cancer Society , the X-rays teeth are linked to the most common form of brain tumor . In many cases it is benign, but debilitating for people who suffer from it.

The study found that people who were once exposed in their life to X-rays dental, are twice as likely to develop these tumors known as meningiomas . Regarding x-rays  dentists, specialists suggest that they go from 20 to 30 years from exposure to radiation , until the meningioma . This means that the greatest exposure to X-rays It is during childhood.

Although X-rays are an important tool for medical and dental diagnosis, dental care x-rays do not point only to the jaw but also to the lower part of the brain .

The Dental Association of E.U.A recommends that dentists be cautious in the use of X-rays in patients who have teeth healthy and do not have a higher risk of cavities . In the case of children, it is suggested that they have x-rays once a year or every two years; adolescents every year and a half to three years, and adults every two or three years. Beware!
