Clean kitchen prevents diseases

The kitchen is the place where the preparation of food is carried out, but also where a great part of the garbage of your home is generated, either by food packaging or waste of the food.

According to Health Supplement of the Excelsior , Carlos Alberto Campos Quezada , general director of Biofuels of Mexico , ensures that having ordered the kitchen allows an effective cleaning and, therefore, you contribute to a pollution-free environment and disease .

In that sense, if you separate the garbage properly, you generate less waste solid because with the waste other products are made. Also, with organic waste you could create a compost (fertilizer) that will serve to fertilize the garden soil or pots.

To stop . Choose two boats. In one of them put the organic waste such as flowers, fruit or vegetable husks, food bones, egg shells, napkins, coffee residues or seeds, among many others; in the other container place the inorganic waste such as bags, cans, glass or plastic containers, paper, cardboard and kitchen utensils.

Top . Both boats should always be sealed to prevent odors from invading the kitchen. Similarly, try to empty them daily in the garbage truck.

Avoid polluting. A large number of Mexicans throw edible oil used in the preparation of food in the drain or strainer. This action causes the death of aquatic species due to the liquid pollutant flowing into the rivers. Therefore, it is best to store it in a plastic bottle and give it to the garbage collector.

Create a compost . On the roof, place a pot of earth, there you will deposit the organic waste, it must have small holes to oxygenate the waste. Water it once a week. Around three months later deposit it in the green areas of your preference.

Clean and compress. Join the PET containers (soft drinks and water), remove the lid and compás. To cardboard (juices, milk, sauces, purées and soups, among others) rinse and crush them, thereby facilitating their collection and recycling.

Be more careful. The sanitary waste (toilet paper, cotton, feminine towels, diapers or condoms) put them in a tied bag. Spotlights, batteries, aerosols, motor oil, paint or hair dyes put them in another.

If the lack of time or space makes it impossible for you to carry out the separation correct of the waste , go to the different collection centers that are in schools or supermarkets. In those places you receive newspapers, magazines, cardboard, aluminum cans, PET or glass containers.
