4 ways to satisfy your cravings

We know that a healthy diet should include 3 main meals and at least 2 snacks, one morning and one evening; however, it is not uncommon that in the middle of the morning or afternoon we get to feel the craving for something to eat.

Generally, after a couple of hours of having had our last meal, we can become hungry and, sometimes, it is so much anxiety that we can get to eat more food just for feeling craving.

One of the reasons why we get to crave is because we do not consume foods that cause us satiety during meals. Therefore, here are some ideas to promote this feeling of fullness and stop feeling cravings or hunger during the day:

1. Prefer wheat bran cereal on white bread. Although both foods contain carbohydrates, the contents in the wheat bran cereal have an effect of greater satiety, since the fiber it contains helps to delay the absorption of glucose in the intestine and prevents the ups and downs of sugar that They make us so hungry.

2. Choose an orange instead of a banana . Both fruits give us vitamins, but if you are one of those who practically eat a banana to get rid of hunger, take the test and eat an orange. You will see that from the simple fact of having to chew the orange segments for a longer time, you will feel less.

3. Change the fritters for popcorn. It is common to open a bag of chips to satiate the mid-afternoon craving, but the recommendation is to change for natural popcorn, as well as being low in fat, provide fiber to the diet which makes us feel hungry for more weather.

4. Vegetables with dressing instead of cookies. Cookies are very useful food to feel cravings or hunger, however it is likely that they do not have a very long satiety effect, so it is worth thinking about vegetables such as cucumbers, carrots and jicama that can be accompanied with a dressing high in proteins and low fat, yogurt or jocoque.

Do the test and for a week make the changes mentioned, you will see that you will not stay so hungry or you will feel a recurring craving, plus you will feel satisfied for a longer time.
