Worry, intelligence sign

The absence of hill , one of the substances of brain , it seems to be related to intelligence and concern , traits that co-evolved jointly, according to researchers from the Downstate Medical Center of the State University of New York.

In this neuroscientific study, researchers were able to verify that both concern as intelligence are characterized by a lack of hill and other related substances in the brain , through tests carried out on people suffering from anxiety.

During the investigation, the specialists measured the intellectual quotient (IQ) of patients with generalized disorder of anxiety , whose results were compared with "healthy" people or without that disorder.

In those people who suffered anxiety , they observed that their IQ was higher, which seemed to be associated with a higher level of concern . Meanwhile, in healthy people the same results were not observed when they did not present anxiety nor the same activity of the substances of the brain.

In this sense, Jeremy Coplan , co-author of the work, explains that although to worry too often it is considered a negative aspect of the personality, while intelligence is a quality that is valued positively, they are very associated, according to very interesting.

"The concern can make our species avoid dangerous situations, no matter how remote they may seem, and by not taking risks, worried people are more likely to survive. Therefore, like intelligence, the concern it brings us a benefit, "clarifies the neuroscientist.

It is worth mentioning that the hill is one of the most abundant substances that contain the tissues of brain in the human being. Its presence is fundamental for the myelination of nerve tissues, while its absence can be associated with a lower IQ.
