Eating disorder in children is increasingly common

Eating disorders are also affecting children . The dangerous side is that not many parents and doctors are aware of it. Often, these disorders are associated with young adults and adults who tend to eat abnormally to achieve weight loss goals. Children can also show signs of eating disorder. Unfortunately, these problems are not usually taken seriously, unless the condition threatens your life.

Many cases of eating disorders in children remain undiagnosed until the condition worsens, often with very disastrous consequences . This could be because there are important gaps in knowledge within the community and health systems.

The problem could also be aggravated with misdiagnosed . The main reason behind the problems of feeding in children remains a mystery today. It could be that in early ages , children are now becoming aware that obese and overweight people are seen with admiration and respect for society in general.

There is another interesting twist to this question. An investigation published in Medical Journal of Australia in 2009, he discovered that more children they are experiencing problems in eating that girls the same age. These conditions are not diagnosed until children suffer complications . Worse yet, most doctors do not expect children to have these kinds of problems because, traditionally, men they are not vain . Times have really changed.

Note that experts emphasize the fact that serious complications could be effectively avoided if the problem were to diagnostic early Children who are treated correctly for eating disorders, have approximately 70% to 80% more likely to heal completely in one year. Around 90% improve their conditions in five years. On the contrary, a typical adult could have a recovery rate of almost 50% in five years.

On the other hand, eating disorders are not just about food. Diets and behaviors usually come along with anxiety and stress. There are suspicions that children with higher levels of stress are more vulnerable to the temptations of unnecessary diets and weight loss. Media messages have made things worse because young children are getting the impression that beauty and social acceptance is synonymous with appearance and ideal weight .
