Foods with vitamin k

Vitamin K is a group of fat-soluble vitamins needed for blood coagulation, increased metabolic pathways (for burn fat ) and the decrease in arterial calcification, which prevents cholesterol also, according to a study Medical Center of the University of Maryland, United States .

The vitamin K or fitomenadione, is part of the fat-soluble vitamins that is produced in the intestines and is found in nature in two different ways: synthesized by bacteria (vitamin K2) and in plants (vitamin K1), and vitamin K3 that is artificial and synthetic which help prevent cardiovascular diseases and improve the digestion .

 

Foods with vitamin k

A natural way to get good levels of vitamin k is through the diet, to include foods rich in this nutrient that favors inhibition and greater fat burning body because it improves sensitivity to insulin , according to researchers from the Columbia University, so it is recommended to consume:

1. Herbs (fresh and dried) . Dried basil, sage and thyme are the ones that contain more vitamin K, as well as fresh parsley, cilantro, marjoram and oregano.

2. Green leafy vegetables. Dark green leafy vegetables are rich in vitamin k and calcium, among which are spinach, cabbage, watercress, beet, Swiss chard, mustard greens and lettuce.

3. Broccoli It contains high levels of vitamin K in only 100 gr, in addition to having a high level of fiber, antioxidants and other vitamins.

4. Prunes In addition to containing vitamin k , are high in fiber, zinc, and even iron, prunes are a very good food for digestive health.

5. Food of animal origin. This vitamin is also found in products of this origin, so a moderate consumption of egg (yolk) and liver, whose content is higher, is recommended.

Although the effects of the vitamin k for weight loss, fat burning and reduction of cholesterol, a study published in the Journal of Korean Medical Science explains that these benefits are due to the fact that the vitamin group helps activate osteocalcin, responsible for these effects.
