Your overweight can be lack of vitamin D

Vitamin D is what we get directly from the sun's rays, can you imagine that this influences your difficulty in losing weight? It is possible. Fat in the body can increase due to lack of vitamin D.

The team of researchers at Tufts-New England Medical Center has associated vitamin D deficiency with an increase in fat and body mass index, factors that determine overweight and obesity.

As noted, people with less vitamin D in the blood tend to accumulate fat around the abdomen and increase weight faster.

Previously, vitamin D deficiency had also been associated with osteoporosis and diabetes, but is now considered a key ally in the fight against overweight. The study indicates that low levels of vitamin D may increase the risk of getting type 2 diabetes by up to 46%.

For his part, Dr. Vicente Gilsanz, Children's Hospital of Los Angeles (California), has conducted a study on vitamin D and the effects of its lack on 90 women in a sunny area of California. The first surprise was the abundance of women who had a lack of this vitamin: 57 of the 90 studied (63%) had insufficient quantities.

Another important finding was the association between vitamin D insufficiency and obesity. The women in the group that showed deficiencies of this vitamin were, on average, 7.4 kilos heavier than those who did not have this deficiency. In addition, they had 3.4 points more in their body mass measurements.
